Resumen

The objective was the investigation of the liquisolid technique, assisted with a cosolvent, in ibuprofen tablets. This study evaluates the hardness of the tablet, the disintegration time, the powder flow properties and the dissolution behavior. The obtained tablets disintegrate in less than 156 s, dissolving 68-98% ibuprofen in 10 min, while maintaining adequate hardness properties of the tablets and powder flow. The results are attributed to a cosolvent that allows a uniform distribution of the drug, partially dissolved in the non-volatile solvent, maximizing the exposure to the dissolution process, the disintegrant that facilitates the penetration of water and the solid used to “dry” the non-volatile solvent that leaves a granulate more or less “wet” and less fluid. The tablets obtained maintain in equilibrium a uniform distribution of the drug with sufficient disintegration and dissolution while maintaining a suitable hardness and flow properties of the powder.
