N2 - This study explores the compactibility of SuperTab 24AN compared against SuperTab 21AN, Lactopress anhydrous and lactose anhydrous NF. Individual powders and their mixtures with amoxicillin and captopril are evaluated. Tablets of unlubricated lactose does not allow the perception of a different compactibility. However, with 2% stearic acid is greater the compactibility of SuperTab 24AN (D162 N = 231) followed by lactose anhydrous NF (D162 N = 201), Lactopress anhydrous (D162 N = 171) and SuperTab 21AN (D162 = 123 N). Mixing with the drugs decreases the compactibility of the excipients, preserving the previously observed order. It also shows an equalizing effect; the advantage of a carrier over the other is less noticeable in the mixtures.
