Resumen

The development of a DNA biosensor for the detection of any single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) implemented on the basis of a quartz crystal resonator as transducer is presented. The methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase (MTHFR) C677T and A1298C SNPs were chosen to perform a proof of concept. We designed and proved a specific surface chemistry on gold in order to use human DNA with no chemical modification as probe. The immobilization of the human DNA via the proposed surface chemistry was successfully characterized with an Atomic Force Microscope (AFM). The DNA biosensor proposed here results in a specific and rapid manner to detect the evaluated SNP.
