Abstract

In this paper, a modification of the Smith Predictor that allows the control of high-order systems with an unstable pole and time delay is presented. For the design of the observer-predictor scheme, an injection scheme consisting of two design parameters (g1 and g2 ), which allows estimating the signal of interest before it is delayed is used. Likewise, the necessary and sufficient stability conditions are obtained. These stability conditions assure the existence of the proposed strategy. This control scheme is evaluated via numerical simulations.
