Abstract

Education is one of the pillars of the economic development of a fight inequality in the country. Köster (2016) suggests for the Mexican case the application of the criteria of affordability, accessibility, adaptability and acceptability, also known as the "4A" in policy design to reduce inequality among the population. This chapter analyzes the effect of the 4As on moderate and extreme poverty in the country. Through the analysis of micro data from the Module of Socioeconomic Conditions of the National Survey of Household Income and Expenditure (enigh-mcs) 2018 and dichotomous models such as Logit, it is observed that the criteria mentioned influence the types of poverty differently, so its impact is not homogeneous to reduce the poverty that prevails in the country. Knowing the effectiveness of each criterion in reducing poverty in Mexico allows a better design of the national education policy.
