Abstract

The motion control of underactuated mechanical systems is a challenging problem for which novel solutions have been given in this book, ranging from model-based control, integral control, and adaptive neural networks. While a set of motion controllers for the Furuta pendulum and the IWP have been rigorously studied from theory to practical implementation, there are still some interesting problems to be solved.
