Resumen
Microbubbles injection within the turbulent boundary layer in a channel flow to achieve drag reduction was investigated in a channel under fully developed conditions for a Reynolds number of 5128. Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) was used to measure velocity fields in the x -y plane close to the upper wall in a channel for single phase and two-phase flow to elucidate the effects of the microbubbles after their injection within the boundary layer. Vortex identification based on the swirling strength technique inflow fields was carried out for single and two-phase flow to elucidate the changes produced by the presence of microbubbles within the boundary layer.
