Resumen

A comprehensive analytical methodology for the analysis and study of sub-synchronous torsional interaction (SSTI) between turbine-generators and series capacitive-compensated ac network is presented. Emphasis is being placed upon the effect of load characteristics on SSTI. The methodology is based on a flexible approach to perform state-space and frequency domain analyses. A detailed case study with the IEEE first benchmark (FBM) model for SSR studies is used to investigate the potential for SSTI between turbine-generator rotors.
