Resumen

This chapter studies optical nonlinearities of various metallic nanostructures. The plasmonic characteristic of nanometals is also highlighted; the complexity of the phenomenon of localized surface plasmon characteristic of various metallic nanostructures is analyzed, in addition to its relationship with geometry and chemical composition. From this, the absorption spectra of the nanostructures of the metals studied are presented. Moreover, it focuses on the study of its second- and third-order nonlinear optical response, optical parameters, and magnitudes. A classification of nanostructures is defined based on multimetallic structures, 3D, decorations, and preparation in a controlled way. So, the various production techniques for metallic nanostructures are also mentioned. In addition, some advantages of physicochemical properties and potential applications are mentioned.
