Resumen

Strain aging of an AISI 1070 steel was studied for determining the cause of failure of the belt material on automotive tires. Static strain aging occurs when yield strength and the ultimate tensile strength increases. It was found that static strain aging is the major cause of failure of the belt material on automotive tires.
