N2 - In this paper a novel procedure for power regulation in a TRIGA Mark III nuclear reactor is presented. The control scheme combines state variable feedback with a first order predictor, which is incorporated to speed up the power response of the reactor without exceeding the safety requirement imposed by the reactor period. The proposed control strategy attains different values of steady-state power from different values of initial power in short time and practically without overshoot. Some preliminary results of the control algorithm show satisfactory results.
