Resumen

Spatial variability in the concentrations of 28 chemical elements and organic carbon in bottom sediments was studied to identify the influence of natural processes and the anthropogenic factor on the compositional transformations of terrigenous material in the estuary system of the Mekong and Saigon rivers and the South China Sea. The results of lithogeochemical data processing allowed us to estimate the role of solid river run-off and the fractionation of terrigenous sedimentary material in the formation of spatial structure in the distribution of chemical elements.
