Resumen

Reversible holographic recording in photochromic spiropyran-doped polymers was analyzed for its use in holography and image processing. On ultraviolet illumination, the spiropyran dyes undergoes heterolytic cleavage of the carbon-oxygen bond to form colored merocyanine isomers. The decay time of the merocyanine isomers was found to be 12 days at room temperature using interpolation method. The result shows that the thin films of photochromic nitro-spiropyran can be used as reversible holographic materials.
