N2 - We present calculations of the compositional dependence of LO and TO phonon frequencies for the cubic and hexagonal structures of the ZnxCd1- xSe ternary semiconducting system. The theory is based on the modified random-element displacement model (MREI). The zone center optical phonons show a variety of patterns for their mode behavior.
