Resumen

A current emulator of a Two phase, Dual interleaved buck-boost converter is presented in this article. The system is built in a low-cost, high-performance microcontroller and is used as a preliminary testing tool to verify the performance of a Peak Current Mode Controller aimed to run a 32-kW prototype rig. The emulator is experimentally validated showing how to create multiphase emulated currents with different raising slope values. A brief introduction and example of how to program a Peak Current Control scheme in C2000 TI microcontrollers is described as they offer specialized modules for power applications. The pre-tested controller is assessed in a prototype rig whose measurements exhibits an efficiency of 97%, an effective current balance at 30 kW, and a power density of 7.6 kW/kg.
