Resumen
The aim of this investigation was to identify the elements of the technological and social arrangement that influence the persistence of the peasant way of life in the region of Los Llanos, Durango. The method used was the Grounded Theory and the technique used was the in-depth interview with 21 farmers in eight communities. It resulted in two critical categories of the social array and one the technological. It is concluded that the limiting factors are the regional environmental conditions, agrarian policy, lack of productive organization, and economic yield. Likewise, persistence is favored by the agricultural heritage and collective identity.
