N2 - This paper studies the performance achievement problem for a class of discrete event systems modeled with place-transitions Petri nets using Lyapunov methods. After reviewing some preliminaries about the stability and stabilization/regulation theory of discrete event systems modeled with place-transitions Petri nets, the performance achievement problem is addressed. Some examples illustrate how the methodology is applied in order to get the desired performance. The proposed approach shows to be easy, constructive and convenient.
