Resumen

The analysis of several characteristics of vitamin C was made. For that purpose its chemical and biological properties were considered, as well as its impact in the health. The main evidences about its antimutagenic (and potential anti-carcinogenic) capacity were evaluated, including different organisms and test systems. The possible use of vitamin C in humans was also considered.
