Resumen
The aim of this article is to reflect on the ties between urban policy and social policy, supported upon two ideas derived from the theory of the Welfare State, based on the viewpoint of Gosta Esping-Andersen, namely: commodification and de-commodification. The first articulates the logic of capital; whereas, the second is linked to the logic of social welfare, where social rights are the objective of the State action; this is to say its intervention appears on the territory via the necessary protections against the risk of a society of labor.
