N2 - A variety of fruits and leaf compressions were collected from lacustrine sediments of the “Bloque Tlaxcala” (Miocene), San Esteban Tizatlán locality, Tlaxcala State, central Mexico. From this fossil material collected, we describe two new species belonging of Guarea (Meliaceae) and Petiveria (Phytolaccaceae), and one leaf form related to the genus Salix (Salicaceae). The current distribution of the closer living relatives of these taxa along with their leaf physiognomy, suggest that the fossil assemblage were close to a cloud forest. These records agree with previous data, supporting the hypothesis of changes in the regional fl oristic composition from the Miocene to the present.
