N2 - Eleocharis tenarum. S. González & M. González (Cyperaceae), an endemic to dry temperate forests in Mexico, is described from Zacatecas and Durango. It belongs to Eleocharis R. Brown sect. Eleocharis subser. Truncalae Svenson s.l. and can be recognized by its basally burgundy to rose-purple upper sheaths with oblique, not truncate or cuspidate apex, and its dark brown achenes that are finely reticulate with longitudinally elongated cells.
