Resumen
Agriculture is a preponderant activity in northern Tamaulipas, Mexico where sorghum is grown in approximately 600,000 hectares. Commercial products were evaluated in sorghum grown with the technological package of the northeastern region of Tamaulipas, Mexico. In the middle of the surface, complete fertilization was used and in the other half only 75% of the fertilization dose. The inoculants were applied at the dose recommended by the manufacturer. The products were from Sistema Agribest, Ultraquimia and Maxifer. A cost/ benefit analysis was carried out based on production costs and sale price in the free market and in the contract farming system. The maximum gain increase with respect to the control was approximately $ 314.00 • ha-1, while when the grain was commercialized in agriculture by contract, the highest profit margin was obtained and the cost/ benefit ratio reached 2, 00 (complete fertilization/ sale contract of the Agribest fertilizer against complete fertilization/ free sale of the control (2.0 vs 1.0)). The results showed that the use of evaluated inoculants increased sorghum production, which translated into a direct gain to the users of this technology.
