    Resumen

© 2017 Taylor & Francis Group, London. An earthquake only becomes a disaster when affects a human community that is exposed and vulnerable to it. Further, some authors argued that “an earthquake is an event that can be prepared for in advance” (Turner, 1976). This is clearly seen when looking at the consequences of the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that hit Nepal in 25 April 2015 (Parry & Linning, 2015). It is believed that the quake killed over 5,500 people and injured 11,200 more.
