Resumen

Understanding the degradation of photocatalytic materials is important in many applications. In this research, the degradation of ZnO nanostructures in two morphologies was analyzed. Nanostructures were raised by thermal oxidation and morphologies were influenced by different concentrations of nitric acid etching. The photocatalytic response of the two kinds of ZnO morphologies were evaluated in methylene blue dye. The crystalline structure in the edge of nanostructures experiment an amorphization proved by high resolution transmission electron microscopy images of ZnO before and after photocatalytic degradation.
