N2 - Co-Ti intermetallics have been produced by consolidation of mechanically alloyed powders of the following nominal atomic proportions Co33Ti67, Co50Ti50, Co67Ti33, Co75Ti25. The mechanically alloyed powders consisted of a dispersion of Co or Ti nanocrystals in an amorphous matrix. On heating, the as-milled powders transformed into a mixture of Co-Ti intermetallics. The grain size of the consolidated products varied from about 80 nm to somewhat less than 500 nm, depending on the mixture composition. Microhardness values as high as 839 kg/mm were attained in samples made from the Co67Ti33 mixture.
