Resumen

Pt/ZnAl2O4catalysts with contents ranging from 0.1 to 1.17 wt% were characterized by temperature programmed reduction (TPR), hydrogen chemisorption (HC), high resolution transmision electron microscopy (HRTEM) and tested in isobutane dehydrogenation, using helium or hydrogen as reaction media. For low metal contents, platinum diffuses into the lattice spinel and when concentration become important, metal-metal interactions are stronger leading to particle formation. Catalytic behaviour is explained by means of the formation of a stable (Pt-H) active complex.
