Cáncer en México: Correlación entre los factores socioeconómicos y la alimentación

Cancer is one of the main health problems worldwide and it represents 12% of the deaths. Since 1990, in Mexico City it is the second cause of death in general population. The lung, stomach, cervicouterine, liver, and prostate cancers are the main ones. Among the multiple factors associated with the origin of the disease we can find the infectious, socioeconomic, and dietary aspects. In any population diet plays an important role in the health and disease state of the people. Thus, food disposal is intimately related to the economic resources needed to acquire them, so it is plausible that at lesser economic incomes, less food quality. Therefore, in such shortage conditions life and health quality will be extremely important.
