Resumen

The objective of this research was to assess the attitudes of students who began their graduate studies in administration to the subject of mathematics. The study was evaluative and no experimental cross sectional design. The graduates selected were: 1) Master of Business Administration (IPN), 2) Master of Management Sciences (UNAM) and 3) Master of senior management (EBC) with a sample of 88 students. The instrument used was a questionnaire with Likert-type questions. The main conclusions of the research were that students consider mathematics as a discipline useful but difficult, and expressed an attitude of distrust and anxiety in situations involving their use. Finally, we found that men and women starting their graduate management studies differ in their level of anxiety when engaging in activities related to mathematics.
