Abstract

Absolute photoionization cross-section measurements for Ar+ ions and theoretical calculations performed within the semi-relativistic Breit-Pauli R-matrix approximation are reported for the photon energy range 27.4 eV to 60.0 eV. The resonance features are assigned spectroscopically, and their energies and quantum defects tabulated with excellent agreement being obtained between experiment and theory.
