Abstract
A theoretical approach that uses minimum a priori information of sources parameters, their locations in the space and propagation properties is developed to predict EMI parameters in urban zones, where the communication systems are normally operated. The model is given by two evaluations: an exact and a simplified evaluation. The former, is applied to find the statistical moments, amplitude probability distribution (APD), envelope voltage level (VD) and the difference between mean voltage and rms voltage (LD) the latter, in accordance with the Gamma distribution, the conception of average distance is obtained. As an example, the model is used to predict the interference levels in radio systems (a cellular communications base station and an FM radio broadcast station) for the frequency range VHF/UHF in a zone of Mexico city.
