Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the effect of static load characteristics on the transient stability studies of a Electric Power System Laboratory including induction generators. Digital simulations with test results are compared, considering a squirrel cage induction generator 1 hp, 220 v, 4 poles, 3 phase, 60 Hz for all configurations. The arrangements that were utilized are: isolated, infinite bus - bar machine and multimachine power systems. Results are presented for a three phase fault in one bus of the arrangement in order to determine the ability of both machines to remain in stability after a large disturbance has occurred.
