Abstract
A new approximate scheme to the centrifugal term is applied to study the Schrödinger equation with an Eckart-like potential. The bound-state energy levels are obtained. A closed form of the normalization constant of the wave functions is also found. It is shown that the present results are much better than those obtained by previous energy levels and are in good agreement with the accurate numerical ones.
