The ARQ binary communication system in the presence of both white noise and impulsive noise

Abstract

The ARQ binary communication system with both infinite and finite number of repetitions is considered. We assume that the receiver for the system is optimal for white noise, but the real situation is different because apart from white noise, there is impulsive noise. The mathematical model of impulsive noise is the Binary Markovian Process. The exact calculation of the noise immunity of both ARQ binary systems is given.
