Abstract

Gold nanoparticles have been used in diagnosis and treatment of several diseases; for this purpose, they must be biocompatible and easy bio-distribution. Carbohydrate coatings provide to nanoparticles stability, biocompatibility, and biological action. Disaccharides have showed potential for neurotherapeutic actions, but synthesis methods of gold nanoparticles coated with these molecules limit to the use of thiol and disulfides-modified sugars. Hence in this work, we propose an easy, fast, and environmental-friendly method for the synthesis of gold nanoparticles stabilized with unmodified reducing and non-reducing disaccharides.
