Abstract

Spatio-temporal patterns of calcium concentration are used to transmit information which is essentia for the regulation of several primary cellular activities. Regulation of the Ca2+ could therefore be used to control important cellular and molecular responses, including cell functionality, survival, differentiation, and proliferation. In this work we introduce a control approach for both suppression and synchronization of coupled Ca 2+ oscillators. The control approach has robust properties against model uncertainties. Numerical simulations show the effectivity of the feedback control law for suppression and synchronization of an array of diffusive coupled calcium oscillators via a reliable manipulable external parameter.
