    Abstract

In the present work we have analyzed experimentally the characteristics of the free surface of a liquid column starting off of the rest in a vertical container (concentric tubes). We have two tubes of different areas A1<A2 interconnected where a great transition due to this difference of areas is registered. To small times for which the viscous effects are despised, the free surface in the superior tube reaches acceleration greater than gravity (g).
