Abstract

This article presents a predistortion open loop control through a modified preinverse Volterra system for a structural system with hysteretic damping. An auxiliary signal is constructed to deal with the complex part of the complex rigidity. As the structural system is linear in frequency, only a first order Volterra inverse operator is needed. After applying the open loop control, the mean square error between the input signal (desired displacement) and the output signal (real displacement) results to be very small.
