Abstract

The method of atomic functions, which is a new mathematical method of approximation theory, is analyzed as applied to the problems of signal processing. Being rather universal and efficient, the processing techniques based on the atomic functions provide a high accuracy of results. Preliminary information on the atomic functions and their properties is presented. The synthesis of a new type of weighting windows and filters applied to the processing of signals of different physical natures is considered.
