Abstract

We have made a critical review of the Abraham-Lorentz and Lorentz-Dirac equations and the processes leading to Larmor's formula. We have examined the hypothesis ad-hoc used to obtain these very equations. Simultaneously, we highlight historic contributions to this subject.
