Abstract

A simplified, easy to conduct, and inexpensive technique for high temperature (at about 130°C) catalytic transfer hydrogenation in a domestic microwave oven is described and examples are provided of selective transformation of β-lactams using Pd/C or Raney nickel catalyst.
