N2 - Salvia evadens (Lamiaceae) is described and illustrated as a new species discovered in Sierra del Halo, Jalisco, Mexico. It is similar in vegetative morphology to S. aequidistans. However, it differs from the latter by having less flowers per verticillaster, lanceolate floral bracts, 5- or 7-veined upper calyx lip, ornate connective with an acute tooth at the middle, and larger flowers and mericarps. A table with similarities and differences between both species is provided.
