Abstract

The main purpose is the design and construction of an knee joint prosthesis oriented to obtain a better rehabilitation process for the Central Military Hospital one-sided amputees (above knee) population. Tests related with a gait analysis are shown, as well as a both monocentric and polycentric mechanisms research. The test results of the gait laboratory, specifically the torque platform ones, were the input data for finite elements analysis simulations, made in order to validate the construction materials selection. Furthermore, an optimization method for the proposed mechanism design is established for satisfy the knee kinematic conditions on gait and get a higher stability for the patient.
