N2 - A new photopyroelectric (PPE) methodology, for optical characterization of general liquids, was used for the assessment of hemoglobin in human blood. The optical absorption coefficient of a hemoglobin reference was measured with this PPE methodology and its corresponding absorptivity, at 532 nm, was obtained. This last reference was used for hemoglobin quantification of blood from a healthy man.
