Abstract

Photoluminescence studies were conducted on CdS films grown by closed-space vapor transport hot-wall technique (CSVT-HW) as a function of temperature and grain size. They show radiative recombination through the bound exciton and those corresponding to Cd and S interstitial atoms. The comparison between the photoluminescence spectra of the samples with small grain size have better crystalline quality.
