Abstract

Three commercial plots of sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) were sampled each week to determine the parasitoid species of the sugarcane aphid, Melanaphis sacchari (Zehntner), in the Guasave Valley, Sinaloa, and their impact on the pest. Lysiphlebus spp. (Braconidae) was the most abundant parasitoid (65%), with specimens of Pteromalidae (12%) and Aphelinidae (11%). Other specimens (12%) were not determined. From 30-85% of the sugarcane aphids were parasitized.
