Abstract

An alternative method for mechatronk systems concurrent design using the dynamic optimization framework is presented in this paper. A dynamic optimization problem (DOP) is proposed to obtain the optimal mechanical parameters values of a continuously variable transmission (CVT), where the kinematic and dynamic models are considered besides the performance criterion of the CVT mechanical efficiency. In order to solve the DOP, a sequential method is used to convert it into a nonlinear programming (NLP) problem. A SQP algorithm is used to solve the NLP problem.
