Abstract

A parallel realization form decision feedback equalizer (DFE) structure is proposed in which the discrete Fourier transform is used to split the input signal into a set of nearly orthogonal signal components. Subsequently these signal components are processed by a bank of decision feedback equalizers whose coefficients are independently updated to minimize a common decision error. Computer simulations show that the proposed structure has a similar convergence performance that the conventional DFE structure, with a few computational cost.
