Abstract

This paper presents the optimized design of a heat exchange chamber used in an electric heater. The chamber design was optimized using numerical simulations to determine the direction of water flow that allows to reach the desired average temperature. The proposed methodology allows the design of a compact heat exchange chamber capable of delivering 1LPM of water flow at a temperature of 36.6 ° C at least, in a maximum time of 90s. To validate the proposal, a physical prototype was made. The obtained results validate the high efficiency of the proposed design.
