Abstract

An ultrasonic system for in-vivo monitoring of the gastric motility in rat is presented. This non-invasive technique allows to obtain both the qualitative gastric motility and electrical signals simultaneously without loading excessively the stomach of the subject under study. The system includes a crystal-based oscillator to stabilize the output signal. Comparative measurements were made using a strain gage device and results showed a good qualitative relationship.
