Abstract

This paper presents the modelling of a Multiport Boost Converter with two power supplies. Four different circuit modes are produced by the switching states of this topology and the technique of current peak control is used with an out phase of 180° between the currents of the inductors for tracking a set of current references in a closed loop. A description of the control strategy, implementation and the principle of operation are presented, showing results obtained with a mathematical model and a Microcap simulation for comparison with experimental obtained with a 500W prototype.
